Alternative clothing options are important to keeping our bodies healthy. There are several hazardous materials in new clothing. Conventional cotton (non-organic) is responsible for a fourth of the world’s pesticides used. This material includes silicone waxes, petroleum scours, heavy metals etc. Even in small doses, these materials have been proven to cause issues to fetuses of pregnant women and even been linked to brain and sterility issues. A better alternative is organic cotton which is uses way less water, and less energy to create.
